A-1 Glass was founded in 1965 by Lou Green. Back in "those days", to the individual consumer, glass was glass, regardless of where you bought it. Realizing this, Lou knew that if he was to succeed, he would have to stand apart from his competitors by offering quality service. 

The ensuing 44 years have seen many changes in both the glass industry and A-1 Glass with one notable exception: Lou's original commitment to providing quality service. Over the years, manufacturing technology and highly technical installation techniques changed the "glass is glass" concept. With each of these changes, our customers' safety became more and more reliant on our installations being both safe and reliable. This is a responsibility we take very seriously.

Lou felt that educating the industry and the consumer to the importance of Safe, Reliable Installations was extremely important. Lou was instrumental in forming the Texas Glass Association and served on the board and as President for many years.  As acknowledgement to his devoted service to the industry, the TGA's yearly "Lou Green Award" is given to a glass professional that has made a major contribution to the industry. Lou has also served on the board of the National Glass Association, one of the nation’s largest trade associations.

Today A-1 Glass is still a local family owned business; a fact we are very proud of.  Lou's original commitment to quality service is being carried on by his son, Greg, and his grandson, Daniel. This commitment to "Safe, Reliable, Quality Service" by Lou and his staff has helped A-1 Glass to become a leading supplier of Automotive, Residential, and Commercial glass in the Golden Triangle area.
